First day in Dili

I waked up at 5:30 am because I need to arrive the Nantou County Hall before 8 am. It’s glad that A-Zen is with me although I totally fell into sleep when I was on the bus.

After series procedure, I finally met the principal of Dili Primary School. He is so young and gentle, and it seems that he is a nice guy. He asked my background and started to talk with me in English suddenly. Hu~ I didn’t lose my face and let him believe I did study in Australia before. Ha~ He took me to see the basketball competition of Nantou County. Dili’s girl basketball team is the first place of Hsinyi Village. They present this village to have a competition this year. The game I saw is amazing! Those aboriginal kids were AWESOME! They had system and energy. Guess what! The result is 58 against 5. Of course the score of Dili is 58. In the end, Hsinyi Village was the second place. The principle decided to take everyone to eat steak! Ha! My first meal is soooo great and luxury~ Thanks to the girl basketball team!

After 1 hour driving, I entered in the mountains and arrived the home of the next year – Dili. There are around 1,000 citizens here. Almost everyone is indigenous people and Christian (In Taiwan, most of aboriginal people are Christian) in this small village. I was introduced to the teachers by the principle. He kept his manner and admire what I did before. I really felt honor but a little bit worried that they will think I am arrogant. Well~ Let’s see!

Then, I played table tennis and badminton with few teachers. Most of them are a little bit older me but still quite friendly. I think I will have good time here. One of the teachers named A-Guay invited me to have a dinner as I told myself I will be starving tonight. Don’t despise this small village! There are three small restaurant and two medium size supermarket. You can get most of the fresh food and groceries here. I will start to cook my dinner tomorrow! It’s amazing that I can cook myself a delicious chicken soup in the winter.

I almost forgot to mention my form! I live in a really comfortable room because it is belonged to the principle. He will go back his home in Nantou city everyday in these two weeks, and he will ask the locals to ‘build’ a room on the roof for me as soon as possible. I have to admit that I am quite worrying the limited time to build a room will be not enough to make the room strong or “think’ enough. I may freeze in the winter time….. Those things should be taken care in the future! I should focus on the job tomorrow. Moreover, trying to make good relationship with those teachers!!! Go!

My first lunch with Dili's people! Steak + Buffet!
Beautiful campus

My room... temperately!
(It is borrowed from the principle!)
Well... It's my future room!
